Sydney University Village is located on campus at the University of Sydney. The Village is just metres away from the vibrant suburb of Newtown, full of boutique shops, restaurants and bars. 

A 15 minute drive will bring you into the CDB with its popular waterfront attractions including the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour, the Aquarium and Circular Quay.

Summer Accommodation and Meetings

From mid November to mid February, Sydney University Village specialises in affordable, contemporary accommodation for groups, conferences and independent travellers. With an on-site conference centre, we provide state of the art technology for budget conscious clients looking for convenient inner city meetings and accommodation. Specialising in long stay and group accommodation, we offer multiple additional services which can be coordinated and booked by our professional events team.

Year Round Conferencing

Sydney University Village provides year round amenities for clients looking for facilities for events, conferences, corporate launches and much more. Offering a variety of meeting rooms and catering options we can cater for groups of 10 to 250 delegates. Accommodation options are only available November through to February.

Day delegate packages are $63 per person (min. 30 pax.) including:

  • Arrival tea and coffee
  • Morning and afternoon tea
  • Selection of gourmet lunches
  • Complimentary conference room hire
  • Whiteboard, microphone and lectern hire

Our services include access to sporting facilities and event theming at an extra charge to ensure that all your specialised needs are coordinated in house by our experienced team. 

Parking

There is a Secure Parking station located in the RPAH Medical Centre just next to the Village.

Getting around

Sydney University Village is located on the door step of Sydney University and is approximately a 5 minute drive from Central Station and 20 minutes from Sydney Domestic and International airports. A 15 minute bus trip takes you directly into the city centre.

The Carillon Room seats 180 banquet style and is complemented by a pre-conference area for arrival drinks, morning and afternoon tea or a working lunch. The Carillon Room, located on level 2 of The Stage Conferencing Centre, boasts a beautiful leafy outlook over the Sydney University Village courtyard. The curved design of the room has a sleek modern look that suits any function, large or small.

The Executive Boardroom

The Stage Conferencing Centre's stylish, modern design is reflected in the sleek executive boardroom. The room set with a formal board table and comfortable executive chairs can seat up to 12 guests. Located on the second floor, the Executive Boardroom has large windows with a leafy outlook and natural lighting. It is also equipped with black-out blinds to suit your needs.

Hoochie Mamma Catering

Our in-house catering company, Hoochie Mamma, pride themselves on meticulous attention to detail, planning and quality.

All food areas have abundant indoor and outdoor seating for a relaxed, social dining experience.

Village Facilities

  • Contemporary Meeting Rooms The Stage Conferencing Centre offers a number of intimate meeting rooms and an Executive Boardroom. The Carillon Room accommodates up to 180 guests banquet style and meeting rooms seat 30 guest's theatre style or 20 classroom style. The Carillon Gallery pre-function area is ideal for morning and afternoon tea or a networking lunch.
  • Resource Centre The resource centre is equipped with a variety of technology and has computers set up in an ergonomically sound environment for your enjoyment. It's open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is accessible by security access to all village guests upon request.
  • Hoochie Mamma Cafe Hoochie Mamma cafe is located at the village offering indulgent coffee and a variety of delicious food. Open breakfast and lunch daily.
  • Laundry The coin-operated laundry can be accessed day and night and entry is available via security access.
  • The Well The Well offers a relaxing space fitted with comfortable lounges and cooking facilities. The Well also provides a pool table, fusball table and screens placed around the venue for music, TV and video display. The Well can be hired for private functions such as networking evenings, corporate luncheons, or social group gatherings. Full catering options are available.
  • Large Outdoor Spaces The Village has a beautiful leafy courtyard for guests to enjoy the sun. This large open space is perfect for a cocktail and pizza under the stars. The accommodation is set around a Village green and a number of landscaped courtyards. You are welcome to take your shoes off and feel some grass in between your toes or grab a coffee and relax on the grass anytime.
  • Internet Broadband internet can be accessed from most of the Village rooms or from the on-site resource centre. Village staff will assist you with all your internet requirements.
  • Carillon Gallery Located on level two of the conference centre the Carillon Gallery overlooks the leafy Village courtyard. This room displays some lovely modern artworks and is ideal for morning and afternoon tea or a networking lunch.
