Griffith University Village is located in Southport, close to the internationally renowned beaches of the Gold Coast. That's right, that super salty sea is only a twenty-minute drive away from the Village, or you can easily take the bus.

We provide casual accommodation during the summer months of December and January while university students are on vacation.

A short trip into the city centre and you will find yourself surrounded by local attractions including the Gold Coast’s convention and exhibition centre, boutiques, bars, restaurants, and beaches.

Getting around

Buses go directly to Surfers Paradise and other surrounding suburbs/areas.

A 5 min walk to the bottom of Edmund Rice Drive on Southport-Nerang Road, you can hop on a Translink bus (20 and 20A) which takes you to Australia Fair shopping centre. A number of services run from Australia Fair throughout the Gold Coast.

A short walk into Griffith University's campus, and you can catch a Translink bus (A 707 weekdays or 709 weekends) which takes you into the Gold Coast CBD or to Helensvale railway station. The 738 bus takes you to Pacific Fair Shopping Centre which also acts as a gateway to other bus and train services.

Parking

We do have limited parking available for guests, however this is subject to availability. You will commonly find parking spots available on Edmund Rice Drive.

Boxed continental breakfast packs are available to pre-order for groups:

  • Cereals (eg. Special K, Just Right, Corn Flakes, Sultana Bran), milk, juice, bar, sugar, spoon, mint, handwipe.

Village Facilities

  • Outdoor area The Kiosk is the Village's outdoor shared space and features a BBQ area adjacent to the swimming pool. The Kiosk is an ideal venue for group get togethers.
  • Pool The Village pool is set amongst stunning native bushland and features an eclectic mix of modern, locally made outdoor furniture.
  • Table tennis The Village has table tennis facilities available for your group to use.
  • Basketball court The Village's half basketball court is a great way to have some team fun and shoot a few hoops.
  • BBQ The BBQ area is located in an outdoor space, overlooking the swimming pool, and is the perfect location to have a casual group dinner after a busy day.
  • Convenience Store The Village has a general store where you can purchase all kinds of perishables, including sweets, fresh healthy snacks and food to go. It also stocks basic groceries and local newspapers, magazines and phone cards if you need to call home.
  • Business centre The business centre is equipped with computers and internet access so you can stay in touch with work, friends and loved ones. It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is accessible to all Village guests upon request.
  • Internet Broadband internet can be accessed from most of the Village rooms or from the on-site business centre. Village staff will assist you with all your internet requirements.
  • Cafe Whether its a latte or a healthy smoothie, the cafe on site offers naughty and healthy options for you to enjoy. Eat in and enjoy the funky surroundings, or order your food to go.
  • Laundry The coin operated laundry can be accessed day and night. Entry is available via security access.
  • Recreation room The Village recreation room is equipped with a large TV screen and Foxtel (ideal for those late night sporting matches). With comfy couches, plenty of reading material and a few arcade games, its the perfect spot to unwind after a long day touring the Gold Coast.
